James McNamara and I were just wondering where to find the wooden pans you can bake in. We have seen them at King Arthur but wonder if there are other sources. Thanks, Margaret Sapir Wave Hill Breads Wilton, CT
Hello, Margaret. Good to hear from you! I have seen those wooden bread pans on the KA website too but other than that, I have only seen then in France and on French websites: here is an example: http://www.moulinsdeversailles.com/product_info.php?products_id=103 I have seen bread sold in these pans in Paris and it makes for a very attractive presentation.
If you do, you may want to take a look at Farine, my other blog. It is Bombance's twin blog except that it doesn't look exactly the same (like a biological but non-identical twin), that, in spite of its French name, it only speaks English and that it exclusively features recipes containing flour. It is also smaller because it was just born (the product of a slow gestation or, if you prefer, a long fermentation)...
Of course, for all the Bombance posts that I may not have had time to transfer to Farine, you may still want to use our friend, the hilarious Google Translator, by clicking here.
